Artist Statement

"My work is a vessel of my emotions. I record for the viewer, including myself, a snapshot of what is swimming around inside of my mind at the time. With acrylic on canvas, woodworking, plaster casting, glass fusion and ceramics my art captures moments from this storm of images, thoughts, ideas, and subjects, and places them in the work so that any who see it, especially me, have a frozen set of moments to look upon, and synthesize a meaning. I do not pretend to have any firm conclusions about my work's desires, as it is always speaking and churning in spite of my attempt to fix it in time, but I can say that I have an abstract style interested in the human form, and the creation of new facial features and shapes upon it. These shapes and figures empower the viewer to consider that there is more than meets the eye when we look upon someone or something, and in turn that we connect in ways that we do not normally do in the world.  My work seeks to uncover these connections in everyday life, and to chase down this sixth sense if only for a fleeting moment and capture it's essence."
